Year In Review: Network Capital in 2022

Reflections and planning

Things happen slowly and the suddenly.

2022 was a lot about things happing at Network Capital. The highlight might be the stake acquisition by a blockchain unicorn, but there is multiple other intangible outcomes and areas of rapid growth that NC saw. In a year that saw many VC-funded EdTech companies struggle with revenues and growth, the Network Capital ecosystem scaled with profitability and impact. This year’s wrap up is our way of celebrating the rapid changes, and planning for 2023 step by step, ferociously

Our long-term vision is to build Network Capital as a generational institution and ecosystem that makes the world a better place by helping people build meaningful careers.

At the end of 2022, here is what the NC Institutional map looks like:

Community

In 2022, the Network Capital community grew to 150,000 members -

  1. We hosted 50+ meet-ups across the world. This includes Delhi, Mumbai, Berlin, London, Oxford, Cambridge, Mumbai, Hong Kong, Brussels, Amsterdam, Mysore, Singapore, Poland, Nice, Paris, New York, Toronto, Bangalore, Dubai, Geneva, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

  2. We hosted our first offline learning retreat in Chail, Himachal Pradesh. 30 Network Capital members came together for three days to think, learn and reflect.

  3. We produced 34,081 minutes of original content. It was streamed for 2,092,112 minutes. This content was created by some of the most interesting and ambitious professionals and leaders from across the world.

  4. Our podcast continues to be ranked in the top 2% podcasts globally. According to Spotify our podcast saw 97% more engagement as compared to other podcasts in our category.

  5. We ran 9 live cohort-based courses that had 1000+ people participate.

School

The Network Capital School is a weekly hour-long enrichment program for teenagers.

  1. In 2022, we have 25 student enrolled in the NC School. We had 50+ students in the Summer School.

  2. We partnered with INK Talks to develop the Public Speaking module of the NC School

Mentorship

Our Mentorship programs work with individuals and teams to develop outcome driven mentorship and coaching programs.

  1. We hosted 500+ hours of office hours.

  2. Worked with 36 individuals on specific outcome driven mentorship goals.

  3. We partnered with 4 organisations and teams to design mentorship, and learning & development programs.

B2B Partnerships

In 2022 Network Capital worked with 18 B2B partners. Our B2B partners included -

  1. VC funded high-growth startups like Mudrex, ApnaKlub, Crowdpad and Falcon

  2. Elite universities and academic organisations like Hertie School and ETS

  3. Impact-driven ventures like Rocket Learning, Kheyti, and Manta Cares.

We helped our B2B partners with -

  1. Community-building-as-a-service

  2. Content-as-a-service

Some of our most successful B2B fellowships include the Web3 & Crypto Fellowship with Mudrex, our First-Time Female Fund Manager Fellowship with First Followers and Community Building Fellowship with CrowdPad.

Impact

For the fifth year, the Network Capital continues to serve as a partner for NITI Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission. We now enable mentorship for 7.5 million school students across India as a part of this collaboration.

Planning for 2023

At Network Capital we have always operated keeping the mission of making meaningful careers accessible. In the coming year, we will -

  1. Double down on B2B partnerships, and collaborate with mission driven organisations to create win-win outcomes at scale.

  2. Invite some of the most interesting and thoughtful individuals to come teach on Network Capital.

  3. Continue to keep Network Capital need blind and accessible. We hope to increase the scholarship corpus with the help of our new and old patrons.

  4. Curate meaningful offline learning experience and meet-ups all over the world. We are specifically looking to add layers of learning and up-skilling to monthly meet-ups.

  5. Scale the Network Capital School to make training of writing, public speaking and critical thinking accessible to teenagers.

  6. Grow the Network Capital team. Network Capital has always operated with a lean team. Today we have two people working on Network Capital full-time and hundreds of members volunteering their time. In 2023, we plan on slowly growing out team.
