🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Offline events & meet-ups: Mumbai, Delhi & London

🚀 Refer and Earn

On Nov 2, 2021 we are hosting a Public Writing Workshop by Utkarsh Amitabh. This workshop is ideal for those who want to get started with the process of writing and want to take the first step.

However, if you want to immerse yourself in a longer writing experience and adventure the Writing Fellowship is meant for you. No one is born a great writer. We become better with deliberate practice, a special type of practice that is both purposeful and systematic. While regular practice might include mindless repetitions, deliberate practice requires focused attention and is conducted with the specific goal of improving performance. In the Network Capital Writing Fellowship, you will engage in deliberate practice as a community.

Starts November 26, 2021, join in!

Shashi Tharoor is one of India’s greatest living writers. In the course of a career that has lasted more than half a century (his first short story made it into print when he was ten), he has published over five million words—in books, newspapers, magazines, journals, and online media—on a variety of subjects.

Previously we have hosted Dr. Tharoor for a wide number of session, including -

In the upcoming session, we will do a deep-dive into his upcoming book & exploring nuances of his writing style.

“In February 2019, I published a Medium essay, “Reflecting on My Failure to Build a Billion-Dollar Company,” that struck a chord with millions of entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs who, deep down, would much rather build a sustainable business like Gumroad than chase a VC-backed unicorn. I wrote The Minimalist Entrepreneur and created the course to help anyone design, build, and successfully grow their own right sized business. Now, let’s get to it!"

Newsletters

This isn’t a newsletter that compares Apple and PayPal or Palantir. This isn’t even about who mattered more or created more wealth. Fundamentally the difference between Steve Jobs and Peter Thiel is the difference between politics and the larger vision towards the world at large.

Patrick Collison is the co-founder and CEO of Stripe, the fintech platform that enables millions of businesses like Network Capital to collect payments. It is one of the most valuable privately held companies in the world and true to its mission, augments the GDP of the internet.

He and his brother and co-founder John are among the youngest self-made multi-billionaires in the world. Patrick and John are both remarkably successful and remarkably well-read. Some credit for how they turned out goes to their parents. Patrick often talks about it. Let’s dive in to explore how the Collison brothers grew up.

“Over and over, what I thought was the work was a distraction, what I thought was a distraction turned out to be the real work.” Hanif Abdurraqib

This quote defines growing up for most of us, doesn’t it? I (Utkarsh) have tried and failed at countless things but I am still standing. This is not a newsletter that will try and put a positive spin on failures but present to you the long litany of facts where outcomes did not match my expectations. If I start from my school days, it might become a book. Let me just share the ones that might be relevant to you as your carve your work life.
