Dear community members,

Hope you had a rejuvenating weekend. This is a quick overview of the week gone by on Network Capital. You can get access to all our offerings once you subscribe.

🏁 One week to go for the Writing Fellowship

No one is born a great writer. We become better with deliberate practice, a special type of practice that is both purposeful and systematic. While regular practice might include mindless repetitions, deliberate practice requires focused attention and is conducted with the specific goal of improving performance. In the Network Capital Writing Fellowship, you will engage in deliberate practice as a community.

Dr. Anamika (Sahitya Akademi award wining poet) will be co-teaching the art and science of writing in the NC writing fellowship that starts on November 26 with a book discussion with Dr. Shashi Tharoor. During the fellowship, you will also hear from other distinguished authors who have written best-selling books, award-winning essays and critically acclaimed novels.

You will get 1:1 feedback on your writing, learn along with 50 ambitious young professionals who want to master this critical skill that will serve you for the rest of your life.

Previously we have hosted Dr. Tharoor for a wide number of session, including -

Commitment may not be easy but that is how anything worthwhile ever happens. Think of anyone you have ever admired. You would rarely say that the person was admirable because he/she jumped around from one option to another. Great art, great love, great technology, great innovation are all products of tireless efforts in the face of adversity.

Sabeer is 53 years old. Building an app for GenZs needs him to understand nuances of the third wave of the internet and observe the internet like an anthropologist. It won’t be easy but ambitious founders don’t optimize for ease. They reject artificial limitations and create opportunity within constraints.

Genuine curiosity is our best friend when we are not the core demographic we wish to serve. That is something our education system fails to spark. During our panel discussion, we exchanged notes about what a revitalized system might look like.

I have trained myself to relish hitting refresh. Curveballs come at me every week but I get less flustered each time.  The good news is that my company is not too big that I can afford being nonchalant or take refuge in the fact that we have enormous reserves of capital to save the day. It keeps me on my toes all the time. Occasionally it is exhausting and I feel overwhelmed but it propels me to look forward to the next day with a sense of adventure and possibility.

Network Capital was built on the idea of scaling trust. One of the most powerful ways of doing this for us has been through referrals. Everyday, our members refer and invite people to join Network Capital.

We have grown to become a community of 100,000+ verified & ambitious without sending a single dollar on marketing.

So far, the referrals to join Network Capital have also been completely voluntary & members driven. But to recognise the contribution of referrals and (maybe) to incentivise more people to do this, we are launching a refer & earn programme.
