🚀 Launch of the Public Speaking Fellowship.

🧑🏻‍🤝‍🧑🏾 Network Capital Learning Retreat

The Public Speaking Fellowship

2020 plunged us in front of the video conferencing tools. We were learning, working and connecting online. There was no option but to get in front of the camera and start talking. While we spoke more, we communicated less. More importantly, communicated less effectively. Things are unlikely to go back to the way they were. In this new normal, it is time all of us adapt our communication styles.  If there is one skill you should work on in 2022, it should be effective public speaking. If you are already good, try and get better. If you struggle, like roughly ~75% of the world’s population, it is time for deliberate practice. Public speaking is not something you can get good at by downloading an app. Just like you can’t learn driving by reading instruction manuals, you can’t become a good public speaker with a hands-off approach. You need to immerse yourself.

Starts Jan 15, 2021

Offline events & interactions is an important component for us in 2022. To kick this off, we are launching a three-day learning retreat from March 25 to 27.

On Network Capital, we want to help you build your category of one not only in terms of what you bring to the workplace but also the values you live by. In this 3 day retreat, we will enjoy myriad outdoor adventures curated by Laidback, a venture by one of our subscribers Nakul.

We call it the learning retreat because learning about ourselves is the ultimate super power. That’s something we rarely get time for because we are constantly distracted, running from pillar to post. Our inner convictions, our strengths, our most vulnerable moments together define who we turn out to be. We want to propel you to rediscover yourself.

We will consider the retreat successful if you go back with cherished friendships, deeper knowledge about your selves and ideas for connecting with others in order to add specific value to them. Your personal and professional growth will be a natural byproduct.

PS. To register for the retreat all you need to do is gift a Network Capital subscription! Limited spots available.

I was selected to become an INKtalks Fellow in 2019. Being part of the INK community was transformational as I got the opportunity to learn from and contribute to some of the kindest leaders around the world. I talk about my INK experience in my book “The Seductive Illusion of Hard Work” (Sage Publishing)

INK was founded by Lakshmi Pratury with the mission of democratizing the magic that occurs at the intersection of science, technology, community and culture. Over the years all of us (INK fellows) have been mesmerized by her storytelling, leadership and empathy.

Today I am happy to share that INK and Network Capital have joined hands to set up “Youth INK with Network Capital” to help school students build their category of one. It will be a yearlong immersion program where students will spend an hour every weekend learning from top CEOs, academics, artists, scientists and policy makers.

May be an image of 3 people and text that says 'Youth INK with Network Capital entrepreneurial disciplines नC INK Subscribe Writing theknowledge, networkand Thinking Storytelling INK, Ashoka and AFGG typically bring professionals who might have deep Instead single-mindedly focusing achievements, talking about failures sharing ens collective resilience fthe cohort. from fellowship was listening periences son could have ALLUSION Lakshmi Pratury Founde CEO Utkarsh Amitabh Network Capital any mem purp why, ther ringing the accept any LIVE THE POWER OF COMMUNITY UTKARSH AMITABH'

In the inaugural cohort of the program we will work closely with 100 students and help them identify their core strengths and equip them with the knowledge, network and mental models to build meaningful careers in the twenty-first century.

Our larger goal is to spark a sense of wonder and curiosity among students. They will graduate as top-notch public speakers, writers and thinkers – skills that will be invaluable for the rest of their lives. They were celebrate JOMO (joy of missing out) and abandon FOMO (fear of missing out).

Lakshmi and I will personally teach in this program and we will bring the best of INK and Network Capital for our students.

Since this post Rohan has been one of the most engaged community members adding specific value to others and learning from them. It is because of members like Rohan that NC has been able to scale trust. NC has been built the good old fashioned way - one sincere handshake at a time.

That’s why we are so thrilled to celebrate the success of Rohan and the entire Map My India team.
