Dear community members,

On Network Capital, we have always been exploring the contours of education to understand aspects of inclusion, access, social mobility and scale.

Despite the importance of Early Childhood Education (ECE), and of parental engagement in its success, little attention has been paid to its continuance during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the context of India, there has been no systematic evidence on the status of ECE delivery during school closures.

Rocket Learning along with Vidhi Legal and Akanksha collected data between April to June 2021, from 676 low-income urban households with 3-6-year-olds enrolled in pre-schools and 58 teachers dedicated to ECE delivery, in Maharashtra.

Join in on October 1, 2021 at 5:30pm IST as they share the report and its findings -

The report sheds light on the status of ECE delivery and who was able to access ECE during the pandemic. It further navigates the role that parents, teachers, and tech have played in enabling the continuance of ECE during school closures, with implications for enabling parental engagement and prioritization of ECE in the long run.
