🎓 Network Capital EdTech discussions & Summer School

This week a bunch of Network Capital Subscribers made it to their dream schools. The weekly MBA & Masters Bootcamp sessions, 1:1 mentoring, and alum connects made it possible.

Masterclasses

Aditi Sangal is a New York City-based journalist, currently working for CNN. She holds a master's degree from Columbia University and a bachelor's degree from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. Having covered some of the biggest global stories in her career, she has won several awards for her work across TV, audio and digital media.

Ananya leads Global Partnerships for the Global Sports Business at Rakuten in Tokyo. Prior to this she studied Sports Administrations from Columbia University.

Newsletters

One way to look at podcasting is a useful community engagement tool. Leverage podcasts to give a flavor to your community what your larger endeavors are all about. If they like your podcast, they are likely to consider exploring your other suite of products on which you can build more stable, substantive revenue sources.

PS. We are thrilled to share that last week the Network Capital Podcast broke into the 100 podcasts globally.

Justin McLeod was a party boy with a drinking problem who fell in love with a girl who eventually got sick of his ways and left for good. Justin got his act together, quit partying and ended up with a consulting gig in DC. The consulting gig worked well and he got into Harvard Business School.

Harvard was hard for him because most of business school experience is social and peer oriented. He had quit alcohol and was actively avoiding party scenes. During business school, he tried to re-initiate contact with his ex. It was sincere and he had really turned things around. He had an offer from McKinsey and life seemed to be well set for a bright future.

All interesting lives include quitting something that sounds amazing. Justin did too. Because of …. the last dance at business school.

This past week on Network Capital was all about EdTech and Institutions. to begin with, we had out first Open House for the Network Capital Summer School. The NC Summer School is a 30 day learning adventure for students between the ages of 10 to 18.

The other edtech and institution related conversation were on Ashoka and Antifragility, and the Rise of Cohort Based Courses. The one line take-away from both these themes is the importance of education that makes you think for yourself and question assumptions. It is important to surround ourselves with those who think, act, write and vote differently than us.
