Network Capital events and meet-ups for March 2022
Dear reader,
Most networks and communities are homogenous. Indians living in Toronto interact with other Indians living nearby. Product managers know product managers. Doctors hang out with other doctors. This familiarity is comfortable and has several obvious advantages. That said, homogeneity comes at the cost of innovation and lateral thinking. What makes Davos interesting is the cross-pollination of ideas across sectors, functions, industries and countries. The same is true for people as well. As Walt Whitman said, we are all multitudes. That is why the future of interesting offline experiences is diversity of ideas and openness of thought.
The phrase “likeminded people” is often used to describe Network Capital community members but that is only part of the truth. Yes, we are all ambitious and curious professionals/students but our real strength lies in how we connect despite having very different visions for the world.
Now that the specter of the pandemic is behind us (fingers crossed), Network Capital is doubling down on offline events.
Here are some upcoming offline events!
I
India Global Forum (IGF) Annual Summit (Benagaluru) - March 7 & 8, 2022
We are pleased to extend Network Capital subscribers complimentary passes to the India Global Forum (IGF) Annual Summit – The New India Inc. which will be hosted at the Taj West End, Bengaluru on 7 & 8 March 2022.
The theme for IGF Bengaluru is “The New India Inc.” and will showcase ways in which India’s new entrepreneurs have harnessed India’s digital transformation to create value and opportunities like never before.
II
NC Learning Retreat - March 25 to 28, 2022
We get so busy with our day-to-day lives that we forget to understand why we are doing what we are doing. The Network Capital retreat will change that by planning a long-form “Life Maps” over the retreat.
We call it the learning retreat because learning about ourselves is the ultimate super power. That’s something we rarely get time for because we are constantly distracted, running from pillar to post. We will consider the retreat successful if you go back with cherished friendships, deeper knowledge about your selves and ideas for connecting with others in order to add specific value to them. Your personal and professional growth will be a natural byproduct.
There will be 4 workshops organized by fellow subscribers
Storytelling
Standup comedy
Stoicism
The world in 2022
